christmas 2010

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Enough for Him, Whom cherubim, worship night and day,
Breastful of milk, and a mangerful of hay;
Enough for Him, Whom angels fall before,
The ox and ass and camel which adore.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.

We are happy to have been able to celebrate christmas with our family,friends and extended family. There were several recitals, the christmas sing ( with the reindeer rap), Christmas eve at Grandma and Grandpa's, a christmas tea party with grandma, and we are in the middle of "family fun week (bowling, good food, unflooding my sister's flooded basement yesterday, movies (megamind and true-grit), etc. Brynna and emily got influenza and brynna is still struggling with her third day of hives all over her body (the doctor says this must be a virus...anyone else have or had this...seems strange. We have been missing Melissa, Lance, Evelyn, Addie and Blake and melissa's phone is lost so no pictures texted yet of christmas in Washington. Today has been an inside day due to an icy snow storm. Maybe a dvd marathon with popcorn? We hope the blessings of love, peace and joy will be with all who read this post.
